A day in Camberwell

Camberwell revolves around its Junction, its Sunday market and one of Melbourne's grandest old cinemas. Here is a day worth building around a game.

Camberwell Junction

Camberwell Junction, where Burke, Camberwell and Riversdale Roads meet, is one of Melbourne's premier shopping strips, more than 400 shops, wine bars and boutique eateries, plus the Camberwell Fresh Food Market for delis and produce.

The Camberwell Sunday Market

On a Sunday morning the Rotary Camberwell Sunday Market takes over the car park, Melbourne's most-loved trash-and-treasure market for vinyl, retro homewares, vintage fashion and curios. It is a Melbourne institution, celebrated in art and film.

The Rivoli Cinema

The art-deco Rivoli Cinema has been a Camberwell landmark since 1940, all grand staircase and period glamour, and it has been voted one of the world's best cinemas. Have a drink at the Nineteenforty rooftop bar or a nearby wine room after the film.

Reasons to book an escape room near Camberwell

Whatever the occasion, there is a Rush room close to Camberwell to build it around. Each of these has its own guide if you want to go deeper.

Date night, with dinner and the Rivoli

Camberwell is made for a night out: an early room at Hawthorn, then dinner at the Junction and a film in the glorious old Rivoli, with a wine at Nineteenforty to finish. It beats dinner-and-a-movie because it is dinner, a movie and a game.

Kids, teens and the school holidays

Camberwell is a leafy family suburb, and the school holidays are our busiest family window. Under-16s play with a participating adult, larger family groups split across rooms and compete, and every room runs the same 60 minutes so it is easy to plan around younger players. The Nine-Nine at Hawthorn is a family favourite.
