Frequently asked questions

How long does an escape room take?
Each room runs for 60 minutes. Allow about 90 minutes on site in total for arrival, your briefing, the game and a quick photo debrief at the end.
How many players can play?
Our rooms suit groups of 2 to 6. Larger groups can split across rooms and compete, just ask.
Do we need any experience?
None at all. Every room comes with a briefing, and you are never actually locked in. Most first-timers are hooked within ten minutes.
Is it scary?
It depends on the room. We have everything from family-friendly adventures to genuine horror. Each room shows its difficulty and how scary it is above.
Which is the scariest room at South Yarra?
It's Nightmare is our genuinely frightening horror room, recommended for ages 15 and up. HackSaw: Chapter 2 is a tense Saw-style thriller. The rest, Monsterz, Cluemanji, Game of the Dragon and the spy room Secret Agent Man, have no real scares.
Which rooms are best for kids and families?
Monsterz, Cluemanji and Game of the Dragon are all-ages with no scares, and our most popular choices for families and kids' birthdays.
Can children play?
Yes. Players under 16 are welcome with a participating adult in the room.
