We have run corporate team building at Rush since 2015, for teams from KPMG, Coles, Apple, Mercedes-Benz, Disney and hundreds of Melbourne businesses.

Why it works

Why escape rooms work for teams

The skills that surface during a session, including delegation, decision-making under pressure and clear communication, map directly to the competencies most workplace team building programmes are designed to develop. The difference is that your team is having fun while they do it.

Communication

Rooms cannot be solved without clear, fast communication, which strengthens how your team shares information back at work.

Problem-solving

Teams think creatively and work complex puzzles under time pressure, sharpening problem-solving as a group.

Leadership and roles

People naturally take on roles, so employees practise leadership, delegation and collaboration in a low-stakes setting.

Morale and engagement

A memorable shared win lifts morale and keeps teams motivated and connected long after the event.

Backed by research

The case for it is measured, not just claimed

Most team building claims are marketing. This one sits in the peer-reviewed literature, and we have laid out the studies in full.

62 teamsshowed a statistically significant rise in group cohesion, measured before and after a single escape room
2,434 peopleacross pooled studies reporting gains in teamwork and communication
Decadesof team science point to the same drivers of performance: trust and cohesion

A peer-reviewed study recorded a statistically significant rise in team cohesion after a single escape room, across 62 real teams.

Packages

Two ways to run your day

Standard Team Session

$300 per room
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm • Minimum 2 rooms

All rooms run at the same time, so your whole team starts and finishes together. Total time on site is around 90 minutes: arrival and welcome, a briefing from your Game Master, 60 minutes in the room, and a debrief with photos afterwards.

Works for groups of 6 to 36 depending on venue.

Half-Day Experience

$300 per room
Minimum 4 rooms across 2 sessions • Minimum spend $1,200

Two windows: morning 9:30am to 1:00pm (sessions at 10:00 and 12:00) or afternoon 1:30pm to 5:00pm (sessions at 2:00 and 4:00). Your team arrives 30 minutes early for a welcome briefing, plays the first rooms, breaks for a structured debrief, then swaps into different rooms for a second session. Same teams, new challenge.

The morning session wraps at 1pm, leaving time for lunch nearby.
